Cookie policy

What is a cookie?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information that are downloaded and installed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.

What cookies does myroom use?

myroom's public pages (this one, the homepage, the legal notice, and the privacy policy) install no cookies at all. The ones described below are only activated once you sign in as a teacher and enter the application:

  • Session and authentication (authjs.session-token, or __Secure-authjs.session-token in production). A technical, strictly necessary cookie managed by Auth.js with Keycloak as the identity provider. It keeps you signed in and stores your role, profile, and the tokens needed to communicate with our services, all encrypted. It is httpOnly and secure: it cannot be read from JavaScript and is never used to track you across other websites.
  • Login-flow helper cookies (authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-url, authjs.pkce.code_verifier, authjs.state, authjs.nonce). Also technical and strictly necessary. Auth.js sets these temporarily while you complete sign-in with Keycloak, to protect it against CSRF and replay attacks.
  • Keycloak single sign-on session. Our identity provider (Keycloak) sets its own session cookies on its own domain during sign-in and sign-out, so you can reuse the same login session across tekman's other applications.
  • Product analytics and feature flags (Featurit). Once inside the application, we use Featurit to roll out features gradually and to understand how myroom is used. Featurit does not set cookies: it stores this information in your browser's local storage (localStorage), never in cookies.
  • Session recording (Hotjar). Inside the application we use Hotjar to understand how teachers navigate myroom (heatmaps and session recordings), identified by your user, school, and role. Hotjar sets its own third-party cookies for this.
  • Support chat (Intercom). Inside the application we offer a support chat via Intercom, identified with your user account. Intercom sets its own third-party cookies to keep the conversation active across sessions.

myroom does not use advertising or ad-tracking cookies of any kind.
